ESTIMATOR

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our construction team. This role will require the candidate to be responsible for calculating the overall cost of the construction projects we currently have as well as cost estimation of any new project being undertaken.

Key Responsibilities:

• Figure out the requirements and scope of the project by carefully reviewing the project plans and other related documents.
• Carry out risk assessments of running projects.
• Visit sites from time to time, evaluate the projects and determine the changes.
• Maintain an up-to-date record of the cost of construction materials and equipment and recommend measures for cutting the cost.
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimation for equipment, labour, construction activities and any other indirect costs.
• Minimize costs through negotiations with suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Keep the clients and stakeholders informed about the costs using detailed cost reports.
• Ensure timely completion of the projects within the allowed budget by collaborating closely with project managers.

Requirements:

• Candidate should be a graduate in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or a connected field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimation in the construction domain.
• Demonstrate excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, materials, procedures and equipment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to convince clients and stakeholders by communicating information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with multiple projects without defaulting deadlines.
• Expertise in any reliable cost estimation software, for instance, CostWorks or RSMeans.
