CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Construction Engineer to join our construction team. In this role, you will plan, design, and execute our construction projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely completion of projects meeting the quality standards, within the budget and to the satisfaction of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with contractors, project managers and architects to schedule the project and develop its plans.
• Evaluate the requirements of the project such as labour, equipment, materials, etc. and manage their procurement.
• Review pay applications and subcontractor invoices and approve them on time.
• Ensure projects' compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
• Visit project sites regularly and evaluate the work-in-progress.
• Provide timely technical support and other assistance to the construction workers.
• Identify any potential issues that could delay or impact the project and take measures to solve them.
• Prepare detailed budget reports and construction schedules and discuss them with clients.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, preferably commercial or multi-unit residential projects.
• Demonstrate strong project management skills.
• Should be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with construction-related software, for instance, AutoCAD or Microsoft Project.
• Should be able to decode technical drawings, blueprints and schematics.
• In-depth knowledge of construction regulations and building codes.
